| it took six minutes to remember how to post a blawg message. i honestly couldn't remember where to click. but here i am. excited aren't you? exciting isn't it? you would all be proud at how far i've managed to push the limits of casual fridays. soon the whole office will be wearing jeans and doing keg stands in the breakroom. observations de jour: nyc is getting cold and the traffic goes to hell (worse than usual) when it gets cold. last night i took a car home at 9:30. it took an hour to get home. i think it's partially b/c the driver took the brooklyn bridge even though i specifically requested the manhattan bridge. bb always has more traffic. this is rapidly becoming a "who f'n cares" post. more observations? hmm. oh, i found a kosher deli underground that's really good. thank god. the food options at lunch were really sucking. and i had to strick to the underground mall at rockefellar center b/c i can't brave the elements if it's below 30. no ma'am. anyway, it's like a real underground mall here. not like underground in the atl, but a mall with crowded shops and crowded restaurants. works out well if you need something in a pinch. like a card. or a birthday present. speaking of presents, i owe my mom 65 bucks for christmas presents she purchased for me to give to other people. done. in the mail.
i had an evaluation this week. it went well. i should probably get back to work. fridays are the days that i want to leave early more than any other day. i would rather leave at 6 on friday even if means having to work a couple of hours on saturday to make up for it. next friday is the m. ward show at the warsaw. some people call m. ward another whiney white guy but those same people are really silly and i won't even go into why. i will not be leaving at 6 tonight. call from partner to meet in 20 mins.
no other news, bitches. i think i'd like to go to atlanta in late february. if i'm there and you're there, please let's see each other. oh wait, there is other news. big news. only 45 days until the season 5 primier of the sopranos. thank goodness.

| steve don't know jack. i'll post more than two blawg entries before my time is up. that ye bitch of little faith.
so now i'm blawging from ny. that makes me a multistate blawger. and i know some people are going to try claim that same status based on vacation blawging but do know that it is not the same as blawging as a permanent resident in more than one state.
what a ridiculous thing to write about. i have a nice view of a concrete building now from my office. i order food from here a lot when i work late: www.seamlessweb.com and my space heater keeps me warm and toasty.
other news? yes. i must flee the office and drink steve's one remaining shinerbock in my fridge. it's calling my name all the way from brooklyn.
| can you really believe it's been all those months since my last blawg entry? holy fuck. unacceptable, but it's been a whirlwind. not knowing what would happen with my job, whether they would help the lone queer travel far off with her love or what. but it's actually happening. and to prove it, there are movers here now packing all of what i couldn't get to last week and in some cases, "repacking" what i didn't pack appropriately. heavy law books have to go in multiple small boxes i've learned or else it's difficult to carry. who knew? not me.
so after the moving is complete today, i'll head back to work to continue wrapping up various projects prior to jetting on friday of next week. i'll kidnap little jawshy and force him to ride in the car with me from the atl all the f'n way to park slope/prospect heights, b/c i just learned that the new domicile is actually in prospect heights and is one street over from park slope. i can't wait to go. i'm getting excited. you'd think i'd be bummed to have to spend the next week on an air mattress with a few clothes but i don't care. i don't even mind all of the roaches that will want to come out and play once it's lights out. i love the CP house, but damn those roaches. damn them to hell.
no more news really. except that everyone should email arnie and tell him not to veto the Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act. go here: http://www.govmail.co.gov/ or call him at (916) 445-2841. this is important. also, my friends in NOLA are in bad shape although lora and kathy, whom i know and love the best, didn't lose their house. they're still messed up over the whole thing. please keep them in your thoughts.
enough preaching - i'm hungry, bitches.

| ye bitches of little faith, i am right here blawgin not one but TWO times in a week. but this time the cat has my tongue. not sure where to start or end. i've got no ability to concentrate. here are some things i was wondering about:
when is valerie coming back to georgia to visit? pd's sister made me watch "house" last night and it totally sucked. idol isn't the same (or even watchable) without my beloved constantine. i'm aiming for a vacation soon to a beach. i would like that beach to be in aruba. my dad spent part of his childhood in aruba. i spent a significant amount of time researching an e-mail hoax that a partner forwarded me yesterday, and then i replied to the e-mail with all of the discrediting info. the construction of the new atl aquarium is progressing smoothly; i can see it from my office. it's may and i have my space heater going.
i guess this is all for now. more later. stay tuned.
| it has come to my attention that i've been horribly remiss in my blawgin' duties, so i here i return to make up for it. this past weekend was our firm's partners retreat, meaning all the partners were out of town. it also meant that since i'm working for two partners currently, i didn't have to be at work over the weekend. this was nice. instead of working, i hung out with the princess. friday evening was low key. we watched cold moutain. princess wanted to see it b/c she read the book a long time ago and enjoyed it. but like all adapted-from-the-novel-flicks, the movie wasn't as good. or so i hear. people who aren't southern can't speak like southerners. i've never seen hollywood pull it off. not in fried green tomatoes. not in deliverance. not in slingblade. not in those horrible john grisham movies. and not in cold mountain.
saturday was far more interesting. princess destiny and i decided a fun thing to do would be to cook a lavish meal. unfortunately, we didn't leave for the grocery store until 5:30. then we ended up having to go to three grocery stores to procure all the necessary ingredients for the evening including bitter sweet chocolate and a bunt cake pan for rawg's chocolate stout cake (details to follow). we cooked: crab stuffed flounder with a white wine cream sauce, a salad, and the aforementioned chocolate stout cake. i can really only take credit for the salad. it contained finely chopped mushrooms, asparagus, and radishes on a bed of watercrest tossed with a dijon, lemon and olive oil dressing and topped with fresh shaves of parmesean cheese. the only real chore in all that was the fine chopping. the crab stuff flounder wasn't too difficult either, because, truth be told, we bought the flounder already stuffed with crab because it was getting late and was much cheaper to go this way. since it was a whole foods recipe, they already had it prepared in the store. all we had to do was bake it and make the sauce. rawg did that. the beauty of the evening was undoubtedly the stout cake, which was akin to something you'd order at a fancy restaurant. it contained bitter sweet chocoate, guiness, cream, baking soda, sugar, eggs, flour, prunes, and a special fancy glaze (also made with guiness) on top. what's extra impressive is that pd lacked many of the helpful cake-making implements such as a mixer, a sifter, a wisk and a double broiler. even as such that cake was not lumpy. it was lucious. and i'm going to eat again and again until it's gone.
i have a conference call with my pro bono client now. i will return. i've returned.
the crazed thing about the saturday meal was that (1) we drank the remaining white wine from the bottle we used to make the cream sauce and became drunk because we'd collectively eaten 3 eggs and 3 pieces of toast all day and (2) we sat down to eat the feast at 11:30. and then we had to stay up really late so that the food would properly digest.
whatelse? yesterday we hung out with lil jawshy, and it was sort of sad b/c i was in primo lathargic bitch mode for a number of reasons. i hope it was mildly okay for him. last night we finally went to dinner at blue pointe with our friend, sheila. we've been planning this dinner since valentine's day. i got a gift certificate for christmas from the partners on my team at work and i'd yet to use it. good food for almost free with the gift card even though kimmy gibler was our server and there were weird ass people in the restaurant.
